FLUATHON - Sat October 13 at THAXTED DAY CENTRE

Appointments now available for our annual Fluathon.  Because of building work, Fluathon is in Thaxted Day Centre this year. You are eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine if you are 65 or over, pregnant, a carer, or have a long-term condition.

Half-Marathon Raising Funds to Equip our new Extension.   A patient is running the Windsor marathon for us in September. To donate via Just Giving, click here

Our thanks to rrt, whose burger lunch raised £2,720 and to the residents of Vicarage Mead who raised £622 with their coffee morning.

Building Work Commences 17 September.   The first few weeks are likely to be noisy.

We will do what we can to use the quieter rooms, but please bear with us.  We can offer quieter evening and weekend appointments at Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow.

Thaxted Surgery has again been rated best in West Essex - 2018 National Patient Survey

Thank you for your continued support and please bear with us through a difficult period of building.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
